Description

Calcium phosphate and Magnesium phosphate are for mineral supplementation.

• Combines calcium phosphate and magnesium phosphate in a single tablet.
• When prescribed by a healthcare professional, C.P.M.P. is generally well tolerated at the recommended dose and may be prescribed for infants, children, pregnant and lactating women, and the elderly.
• The easy-to-swallow tablet can be halved or crushed to facilitate low-dose prescribing for infants and children.

Prescribing Information
Calcium, magnesium and phosphate play important roles in neurotransmitter release, nerve conduction and muscle contraction and relaxation. Together, magnesium and phosphate are integral in energy production.Calcium, magnesium and phosphate are required for muscle and nerve function. Magnesium and phosphate are needed to maintain energy production.

• Neuromuscular function: Calcium, magnesium and phosphate are required for healthy nerve and muscle function.
• Calcium plays a role in regulating the electrical polarity of the cell membrane and is necessary for the secretion of neurotransmitters at the synapse and neuromuscular junction.
• Magnesium has inhibitory and stabilising effects on neurons, and plays an influencing role in the release of neurotransmitters.
• Along with calcium and magnesium, phosphate is necessary for contraction of cardiac, smooth, and skeletal muscle.
• Energy production: The production and storage of energy in the body depends on the availability of both magnesium and phosphate.
• Phosphate is incorporated into compounds such as ATP and cyclic AMP. Magnesium combines with and stabilises the ATP molecule, and the resultant Mg-ATP complex (rather than ATP alone), is the substrate for most ATP-requiring enzymes.

 

Each tablet contains:

Calcium phosphate	130mg
(elemental calcium	50.4mg)
Magnesium phosphate	65mg
(elemental magnesium	13.4mg)
each tablet contains lactose	185mg

C.P.M.P. may interact with certain other medications your patients may be taking. Calcium and magnesium may decrease the absorption and efficacy of some medications. C.P.M.P. should be administered at least 2 hours apart from tetracyclines, quinolones, bisphosphonates and thyroid hormone.
