ChinaMed Antitox Formula 78c
Description
This is a variant of a modern formula, Chuan Xin Lian Pian (Andrographis Tablets) or Chuan Xin Lian Kang Yan Pian (Andrographis Fight Inflammation Tablets) that was developed as an antiviral and antibacterial with a broad range of applications. The original consists of the three herbs: Andrographis herb (chuan xin lian), Taraxacum herb (pu gong ying) and Isatis root (ban lan gen). The ChinaMed formula is enhanced with the addition of Isatis leaf (da qing ye), which also has pronounced antiviral, antibacterial, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory actions.
In TCM terms, this formula clears Heat Toxin or Fire Toxin, drains Damp-Heat, cools the Blood and reduces swelling. It may be used for epidemic febrile illness, Fire Toxin (particularly in the throat or Lung), and Toxic swellings (e.g. on the skin, ears, mouth and pelvic organs).
Although it can be used as a stand alone formula, the dosage restrictions make it more useful as an adjunctive treatment. In this way it may be taken in combination with a variety of different 'targeting' formulas to treat infections of the respiratory tract, liver, skin, GIT, urinary tract, pelvic organs, ears, mouth, etc.
