ChinaMed Liver Tonic Formula 78c

Description

This is an empirical formula derived from herbal combinations that have been found effective in the treatment of acute stage hepatitis. This formulation has both a traditional as well as modern basis, in that many of the herbal ingredients have been studied in relation to their actions in the treatment of hepatitis.

• Effective in hepatitis: Fallopia japonica (hu zhang), Taraxacum mongolicum (pu gong ying), Bupleurum falcatum (chai hu), Scutellaria baicalensis (huang qin), Curcuma longa (yu jin).
• Anti-inflammatory: Fallopia japonica (hu zhang), Bupleurum falcatum (chai hu), Angelica polymorpha (dang gui), Forsythia suspensa (lian qiao), Glycyrrhiza uralensis (gan cao), Scutellaria baicalensis (huang qin), Paeonia veitchii (chi shao), Paeonia lactiflora (bai shao), Curcuma longa (yu jin).
• Antiviral: Fallopia japonica (hu zhang), Forsythia suspensa (lian qiao), Taraxacum mongolicum (pu gong ying), Bupleurum falcatum (chai hu), Scutellaria baicalensis (huang qin).
• Hepatoprotective: Bupleurum falcatum (chai hu), Angelica polymorpha (dang gui), Glycyrrhiza uralensis (gan cao), Forsythia suspensa (lian qiao), Taraxacum mongolicum (pu gong ying).

 

Each capsule contains:

3 capsules twice daily

• Contraindicated during therapy with interferon.
• Caution for those on anti-coagulant medications (i.e. Heparin, warfarin or aspirin).
• Avoid coffee, deep fried foods, high glycemic foods, saturated and ‘hydrogenated’ fats.
• Contains Glycyrrhiza, which potentiates prednisone and corticosteroids by prolonging steroid biological half-life; caution in patients with hypertension.
