Description
Slippery Elm has been used traditionally in Western herbal medicine for its demulcent and nutritive actions. It is a source of both water-soluble and water-insoluble fibre which swells upon contact with water providing a protective effect.
Indications:
Traditionally used in Western herbal medicine:
- as a demulcent to soothe irritated tissues and gastro-intestinal tract mucous membranes
- to reduce loose stools and diarrhoea
- to help relieve mild gastrointestinal tract inflammation
