Prescribing Information:
Taking more than 50mg of zinc per day over a period of weeks may interfere with copper bioavailability.
Substances that may affect zinc absorption or excretion include high dietary calcium intake, coffee, folate, supplemental iron, NSAIDs, antibiotics and diuretics. Separate by two hours.
Concurrent use of vitamin B6 with phenobarbital or phenytoin may lower plasma levels of the medication.
Taking vitamin A with isotretinoin (Roaccutane) or other retinol-based pharmaceuticals is contraindicated.
Increased vitamin A levels occur in oral contraceptive pill users due to longer storage in the liver.
