  • Fish oils may have additive effects in patients treated with antihypertensives such as beta-blockers and ACE inhibitors.
  • Symptoms of hypomania can develop in patients taking fish oil who have bipolar disorder.
  • Higher doses of fish oil might cause suppression of immune and inflammatory response. Immuno-compromised patients (e.g. patients with HIV/AIDS) should avoid exceeding 3g/day.
